"My clothes are by Voyage and my jewellery is by Daisuke Sakaguchi"
(Kelis, In Style Magazine)

THE 27 LIFE's underlying and inimitable aesthetic expresses London born artist Daisuke Sakaguchi's love for creative design, the culture associated with it and the fusion of his Japanese and British roots. As an artist and creative designer, he is an ardent believer in the concept of identity and that the streets are a public gallery; inviting you to display your work with the opportunity to show others your style and passion. This philosophy, together with a BA (Hons) Degree from Central Saint Martins College in Jewellery Design, allows Daisuke to draw on his experiences to create and sell well crafted design pieces and art work unlike any other creative designer.

Daisuke’s first accessories collection was launched in 2005, bought and stocked by Comme des Garçons' London store, Dover Street Market. In quick succession, his pieces were exhibited at The Goldsmith's Hall Cufflinks Show and worked to promote a limited edition, high end Adidas Lifestyle collection. He has also showcased his work in galleries in Soho and Covent Garden and at The British Arts Medal Society exhibition in Canary Wharf, where he was awarded the "Honorary Mention Award". THE 27 LIFE, representing Creativity As A Service, Daisuke was invited into an exclusive collaboration with Nike for their Air Force One 25th Anniversary in 2007.

Acknowledged by Philip Treacy, Daisuke's celebrated involvement in design and fashion has resulted in an invitation for his jewellery design products to be modelled by Linda Evangelista during London Fashion Week, in a film and fashion shoot directed by Nick Knight for Show Studio. Erin O'connor, Alek Wek and Jade Parfitt have also modelled Daisuke’s work. In September 2006 his solo jewellery catwalk show was launched at Tokyo Fashion Week presented by the Side By Side boutique, directed by Nicola Formichetti. This was followed by showcasing his collection in September 2007 for the London Fashion Week Exhibition. After Rihanna was seen wearing a Daisuke Sakaguchi piece, he was commissioned by Colette to create an exclusive bracelet based on Karl Lagerfeld for a Design Exhibition in their Paris Boutique during Paris Fashion Week 2010.

Daisuke’s work has been featured in a variety of publications including the books “New Directions In Jewellery” and “Fashion Jewellery – Catwalk & Couture”, alongside print magazines The Sunday Times Style Guide, Numero, Observer Magazine, Metro, In Style Magazine, Arena Homme Plus and Elle Decoration. His trademark, full knuckle ring, can also be seen worn by UK soul artist Estelle in her UK Number One hit single music video “American Boy” (featuring Kanye West).

His work has been used by renowned stylists Patti Wilson and Karen Binns and alongside developing his product design collection; Daisuke has undertaken a number of bespoke commissions for high profile clients including Elton John, David Furnish, Romeo and Brooklyn Beckham, Kelly Osbourne, Kelis, plus Vauxhall Motors in trend forecasting for lifestyle products. His commissions also extend to bespoke furniture design, clothing, creative art direction and bespoke murals found in the offices of award winning interior designer Kelly Hoppen, the bathroom walls of David Coulthard and private clients’ beach houses in Sardinia. He has created live mammoth scale paintings in front of 4000 people at the 2007 Annual Microsoft Convention in Barcelona as well as putting together a live three-week long painting showcase at the 2006 London Motor Show for General Motors Co.

In early 2012 Daisuke produced the spectacular Giant "MIRAI" Egg for The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt 2012 exhibition that was nested proudly on Newburgh Street, Central London and at the Covent Garden Piazza along with the collection of limited edition 10 Fabergé African Ostrich eggs exclusively for Selfridges London. In May he created the awesome "TOMODACHI" BT ArtBox for The BT ArtBox Exhibition 2012. Daisuke's stunning hand painted transformation of the iconic British 1935 Sir Giles Gilbert Scott K6 BT Phone Box was standing tall on Newport Place, the heart of London's China Town, for public display during June and July 2012. It was then sold by Sotheby's at the exclusive auction event held in the National Portrait Gallery. In September he presented his spectacular 1 of 1 "CHIKARA" Giro bicycle helmet that was showcased at the Sotheby's gallery, London, which was then auctioned by Oliver Barker, Deputy Chairman of Sotheby's, on the evening of 19th September 2012 to raise money for The Legacy List Charity.
